Was it really as good as it seemed? Yes, Ebert, it was. I watched The Manchurian Candidate last night. Excellent! This movie is completely timeless.
And doesn’t Jude Law look like Laurence Harvey?

This film definitely deserves to be on a “greatest films” list. When you think about the plot, it seems fairly simple and boring, but it’s so real. You can feel their pain of living in poverty and needing the bicycle to have a better future. And the cycle continues. Great movie, and the ending [...]

Huh? What a weird movie about nothing… I guess that was the point.

This movie was really fun. No wonder it was one of the Top 100! A young Robert Redford makes a great con man. What made me laugh during this movie was how easy it was to con people before technology, Internet, cell phones etc. The availability of open/free information just evens the playing field of [...]

I realized that I have seen 2 movies off the Top 100 Grossing Films list that I didn’t cross off the first time:
42 Ghostbusters 1984
36 Pinocchio 1940
So I’m crossing these off today, and it’s totally not cheating!

I watched “A Hard Day’s Night” this week, (from the Ebert 102 Movies You Must See List). It’s very striking how young they look in this movie. Anyway, it was adorable, who doesn’t love The Beatles!

I finally finished The Chronicles of Narnia DVD. I had paused it for several day… but finally got back to finishing it up yesterday. I’d skip this movie, but I can see why children love it, who doesn’t love a talking lion? Really not sure why this was one of the [...]

I watched #08, Doctor Zhivago, last night. I thought it was going to be pretty cheesy, and it was, but something about it was just really good. It was sad, and predictable, and very 1965, but it makes you think about people and history, and how life is predictable and complicated and predictably complicated.
Only 31 [...]

I’ve only seen 23 from the Ebert List, so 79 more for that list. I guess I need to see about 1 per week… for the next 2.74 years!
Movies I Haven’t Seen on Ebert’s “102 Movies You Must See” List:
